Directions
Canvas is absolutely essential to my class! The following are simple step by step directions to logging in and using canvas. Do not come ask me for help!!
- Follow this link to https://jsd.instructure.com/login/canvas
- Or google JSD Canvas, and click on the first link.
- Or google JSD Canvas, and click on the first link.
- Then type in your my.jordandistrict.org email ex: [email protected]
- Then type in your lunch number followed by jsd. EX: 1234567jsd
- Then hit enter
- The first time you log into canvas, you will have to accept the terms and conditions of canvas.
- Your classes should already be loaded in canvas. Click on my class (Language Arts 10 or 11)
- On the right hand side, you will see a To-Do list. This will show all your upcoming assignments that are due. It will also show you if you have any late assignments.
- Also on the right hand side, it will show you if I have graded any assignments. You may click on the score to see any notes I have left.
- Usually I use a rubric, in which case, click view rubric and you will be able to see the reasons behind the points I gave you.
Turning in an Assignment
- log in
- click on this class (Language arts 10 or 11)
- On the right hand side, you should see the assignment listed under To-do list. Click on it.
- Canvas will then open the assignment page. You will see the assignment, as well as all the directions, at the bottom, you will see a box to submit the assignment. Along the top of the box will be several tabs. Click on the tab that says google docs or the tab that says google drive. Do not click upload file. We use google docs, not files!!!!
- Then you will have to connect canvas to your google drive. Click connect.
- It will then pull up a dialogue box asking you to leave the page. Click leave. Don't worry, you'll be back.
- Click the email account you want to link your canvas too. Should be your jordandistrict email account.
- It will then take you back to canvas. Click on google drive or google doc (whichever one you linked).
- Find your assignment (make sure you named your assignment. It's very hard to turn in the right assignment when you have five or six untitled documents).
- Click submit.
Re-doing or re-submitting an assignment
- log in
- on the right hand side, you will see that your assignment has been graded. Click the score
- Click to see the notes.
- Click to view rubric.
- If you want to re-do your assignment, you fix any problems or mistakes.
- Once you've fixed it, you click re-submit.
- click on google drive or google docs
- find your assignment
- click submit
Viewing an Assignment
- Log in
- on the right hand side, you will see the assignment. Click on it.
- It will show you the assignment directions. If there are any links to any assignments, click on them to see the associated google docs.
If you want to view a past assignment, you may go to the assignment page and scroll through those. Or you may look through the modules for the associated unit or date of the assignment.
You may also go into grades and look at previously graded assignments.
